About This Song

giddy is a poet-turned-songwriter who plays songs to cry to on the world's happiest instrument. Her music is intimate & lyrical, with ethereal vocals & stripped-back, delicate instrumentals. ‘kintsugi’ is her debut single. It's a warm 2-and-a-half minute hug, inspired by the Japanese art of restoring broken pottery with gold lacquer. We people break too, but with a little love on our worst days, we can come out strong – and often we’re especially luminous along our fault lines. This song is a love letter to the ones who show up with a candle in dark times – and a promise to hold the candle for those who need it. It's the first track on my upcoming EP, 'songs for awkward spaces'. 'kintsugi' was recorded, produced and mixed by Sean Carey at Church Street Studios, and was released on 30 January 2026.
