'Alibi' was inspired by my own experiences with overthinking and the feeling of being haunted by my internal monologue. I've always been someone who tends to overanalyse situations, replaying conversations and questioning things I've said or done, often worrying about what people may think of me.
The song plays on the traditional meaning of an alibi, something that's supposed to protect you or get you out of trouble. In this case, it reminds you of everything your trying to escape. It's that feeling of frustration when you know you should be free of something but mentally you just can't let go.
The track was recorded on the Gold Coast with producer Mattymadeit, who really saw my vision and helped me bring my demo to life.
