Written, arranged, produced and mixed by George Galanis (aka jeorjeo54) in Sydney Australia, Burning Desire is about what comes after heartbreak. An ex returning, expecting to find the same broken person they walked out on, only to find that person no longer exists. An empowering anthem about reclaiming confidence and moving forward, it features hand-picked live session vocals and instrumentation recorded across three countries under the direction of George - the powerful vocals of Jasmine Soto, a session singer from Los Angeles (not an AI “persona”), who effortlessly infused vulnerability beneath the empowered lyrics, soulful saxophone by Mikola Neruk from Ukraine, and music (including an incredible electric guitar performance) by Iván Reyes from Mexico. This song was truly a masterclass in collaboration. Built from multiple drafts of lyrics and raw melodies, every layer of the track was intentional, rejecting AI trends and the sterile landscape of prompt-induced algorithmic music. Driven by authentic vocal takes and real instruments, produced and mixed over the course of a few months, the subtle, organic imperfections of the human performances were left intact during the final mixdown, resulting in a rich, driving pop track that feels vibrantly alive.
About the Artist
jeorjeo54 is my musical moniker (I’m George Galanis, a Sydney-based songwriter, arranger, and producer). I bridge the gap between classic indie songwriting and sleek, modern pop production. As a producer who handles 100% of my own lyric writing, melodic composition, and final mixing, I keep human artistry at the absolute core of my songs and use the internet as a global studio door: hand-selecting international session singers and musicians to sing and play my original songs. The result is a highly polished, emotionally resonant blend of human performance and deliberate production that values the craft of traditional songwriting above all else. No prompts. Real human music. Everything changed for me when Jasmine Soto, an accomplished singer from Los Angeles (not an AI “persona”) connected with me. We spent weeks working on the vocals for my debut single, Burning Desire, while I engaged talented musicians from Ukraine and Mexico to create a song driven by dance-pop energy. Jasmine Soto is a talented, real session singer with an incredible range and very skilled. She gave me an incredible performance with nuanced layers over many takes, and has chosen to stay on the down low, which I respect. I am continuing my collaboration with her (as well as Mikola and Iván) for more songs I am writing.
