About the Artist
Boorloo/Perth indie alt-rock trio Polly continue their rapid rise with the release of their powerful new single and music video, ‘Doubt’—a raw and resonant track that captures the band’s signature balance of vulnerability and intensity.
“‘Doubt’ came together pretty naturally once we locked into that chorus,” says Will from the band. “It started from that feeling of being stuck in something you know isn’t right but not being able to let it go. There’s a bit of frustration in it, but also this weird acceptance — like you’re aware of what’s happening and still choosing to stay in it. It’s probably one of our favourites to play as a band because it just feels like it hits a different gear live. We’re really excited to finally get it out.”
‘Doubt’ arrives as a preview of the band’s forthcoming EP, Maybe which is set for release on 17 July, and ahead of a support slot for Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers which is set to introduce the band to even wider audiences.
Polly have been steadily building momentum off the back of a string of releases that have garnered national attention, including support from triple j and triple j Unearthed. Known for their energetic live shows and honest, guitar-driven songwriting, the three-piece have quickly earned a reputation as one of the most compelling emerging acts in Australia’s indie scene.
Their ascent has been further cemented through headline shows and support slots alongside some of the country’s most beloved indie acts, including Spacey Jane, The Belair Lip Bombs, Hockey Dad, and The Grogans.
