About this Song
Closed Chapters is a song about the moment you realise a relationship is ending, even though nobody has actually said the words out loud. I wanted to capture the feeling of standing in the same room as someone you care about but feeling emotionally disconnected from them. The song was inspired by the idea that two people can seem fine on the outside while quietly drifting apart. It explores heartbreak, confusion and acceptance, and features an English-Spanish ending that reflects the feeling of speaking different emotional languages. I wanted the song to feel honest, reflective and cinematic. I recorded this song on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland.
